The great rabbit war

My first and only animated short. I made it when I was 16 and back then, the Romanian computer magazine XtremPC featured my animation (among others) on their cover CD. And I was happier than if I'd been elected president.

Me and my bro's computer back then was an AMD K6-2 @450 MHz with 32 MB RAM, an nVidia TNT 2 Vanta and a 15" monitor. For about a month I was working on the scenes day by day. Then each night the computer was rendering the day's work. The harddisk was squealing like a pig and trueSpace crashing like a ...monkey (??) 'cause there was RAM in the computer only to get it booted up. Glad the too-little-memory times are over.

This puny attempt of mine at a 3D short makes me wonder how amazing the people from Amazing Studio were, since they made the absolutely 110% amazing CG clips for their game Heart of Darkness (1998).

Have a nice day.

Lazy bastards...

With this volumetric light+shadow, one frame was taking almost one hour to render.

My catapults coming over the hill are a shameless rip-off of one of Warcraft 3's CG videos... the one that had a catapult coming over the hill...
